The final uprising before December 1978, when the salvation Front surfaced, apparently came in the previous month and involved Pol Pot economic Cza Von Vet, who accompanied his boss to Peking in 1977 to celebrate the end of the purges. Ieng Sary says Von Vet, who real name was Sok Thuok committed suicide when his own coup bid failed.
