In their major setback of the war. Vietnamese forces were driven out of the Cambodian port city of Kampong Som after heavy fighting. At the same time for Vietnamese naval patrol graft were shelling the Cambodian cost just below the southern extrem of the Thai border, Khemarak Phoumin ville, capital of Koh Kong.
