Prince Norodom Sihanouk announced in Peking on January 30, that he had "permanently, irrevocably and irreversibly" resigned as president of the anti-Vietnamese coalition government of the Cambodia-composed of Sihanouk's forces, the communist Khmer Rouge and the non communist Khmer People's National Liberation Front (KPNLF) forces headed by Son Sann, and cancelled further talks with Cambodian premier Hun Sen.
