Summary / Abstract :
|
Since 1979, most of Cambodia has been under the administration headed by Heng Samrin. It has taken the name the people's Republic of Kampuchea (PRK). PRK leaders claim to have seized power in a revolutionary uprising against the Pol Pot regime, but were physically installed in Phnom Penh by a Vietnamese invasion force and are maintained in power by a Vietnam army of occupation numbering 120,000 troops (mid - 1988 estimates).
