Within four years in power from April 1975 to January 1979, the genocidal Pol pot regime massacred more than three million Kampuchean people and unleashed a war against neighboring Thailand, Lao and Vietnam. Especially, the genocidal Pol Pot regime turned down all proposals for peaceful negotiations put forward by Vietnam.
