Prince Norodom Sihanouk left Thailand on July 2nd for a visit to Peking to make preparations for an informal meeting of the four Khmer factions to be held between 16 and 17 July. Foreign Minister Asa Sarasin, along with Son Sann and Khieu Samphan, saw the prince off at the airport.
