The Khmer Rouge used tanks and heavy artillery in these violent attacks, state the Cambodian minister of foreign affairs. "As they were not prepared, the Phnom Penh forces had to pull out of these positions," affirmed the minister who added that "these ceasefire violations of such exceptional severity compel our forces to retake these positions soon.
