In December 1968, Mao Khnhei was arrested by enemy to imprison in the prison. Later, Ly Ngauv, chief of spy, introduced him to stop serving Khmer Rouge, to spy on propagandist and to persuade him to report Ly Ngauv. When Mao Khnhei took garbage to throw away, he usually went to report a plan and activities of cadres. In the early 1971, Mao Khnhei made contact with Keo San in order to fight AmpeouPrey sub-district and to evacuate a lot of people to stay in his strategy village. Mao Khnhei convinced people not to do farm and provoked problem between new people and base people of work, eating and drinking. Moreover, Khnhei allowed merchant to transport pigs, chicken and ducks to sell at Phnom Penh. The purpose was that to cause the regional economic lacked.
នៅខែ១២-១៩៦៨ ម៉ៅ ខ្ញិត្រូវខ្មាំងចាប់ដាក់គុក ហើយត្រូវបាន ឈ្មោះ លី ង៉ូវ មេគិញណែនាំឱ្យឈប់ធ្វើសកម្មភាពបំរើពួក ខ្មែរក្រហមទៀត ហើយតាមដានអ្នកឃោសនា ដែលបំផុសចលនា អោយរាយការណ៍ លី ង៉ូវ។ នៅពេលម៉ៅខ្ញិយកសំរាបទៅចោល តែងបានរាយការណ៍ពីផែនការ និងសកម្មភាព មិត្ដយើងជានិច្ច។ នៅដើមឆ្នាំ១៩៧១ ម៉ៅខ្ញិបានទាក់ទង កែវ សាន ធ្វើសកម្មភាព វាយចុះដល់ ឃុំអំពៅព្រៃ ព្រមទាំងគារប្រជាជនទៅជាច្រើនគ្រួសារ យកទៅដាក់នៅភូមិយុទ្ធសាស្ដ្ររបស់ខ្លួន។ដើរឃោសនាមិនឱ្យប្រជា ជនចេញទៅធ្វើស្រែ បំផុសប្រជាជនថ្មីឱ្យមានទំនាស់ជាមួយប្រជាជន មូលដ្ឋាន ពីរឿងធ្វើការងារ, រឿងស៊ីចុក និងបានចលនាពួកឈ្មួញ ដឹកជ្រូក មាន់ ទា ទៅលក់នៅភ្នំពេញ ក្នុងគោលបំណងពង្រីក សេដ្ឋកិច្ចតំបន់រំដោះឱ្យខ្វះស៊ី។
