According to the people in Stung Treng Province, the UNTAC [UN Transitional Authority in Cambodia] team in the province on 8 January 1993 allowed the 26 puppet regiment to move troops and ammunition from Preah Vihear Province to Stung Treng to prepare for an attacks on the resistance forces and to crush various political parties.
