Duch Im, alias Phy, male, was born in 1945 and disappeared. Interviewed with his 76-year-old mother, Khiev Um; his mother was Nut Duch, and he has siblings. Im was born in Khchao village, Khchao sub-district, Kang Meas district, Kampong Cham province. When he was a child, Im studied until grade 9 [in the old system] in Wat Khchao primary school. After dropping out of school, Im became a monk for three years in Khchao pagoda and helped his parents in rice field. In 1974, Im was brought to join the KR soldiers by the village chief. In fact, Im didn៌t want to be the KR soldier because he kept crying; in addition, his parents didn៌t want him to go; however, it៌s a time that the country needed us. Since leaving, these two brothers never returned to their home even the Khmer Rouge got the victory in 1975. It was until ending the over three-year regime and starting the new regime in 1979 that these two children didn៌t come back to the home village neither. Every day, his mother misses him, and she has no hopes that her children are still alive. When she goes to the pagoda, she always thinks of them. And, she was, during the Khmer Rouge from 1975 to 1979, assigned to farm in rice field, living separately from her family; in addition, there wasn៌t enough food to eat. Most of the time, there was only gruel mixed with corns to eat. In the Khmer Rouge regime, Angkar took rice to put in all pagodas, and some places became pigpens. There were not any pagodas for people.
ឌុច អ៊ីម ហៅ ភី ភេទប្រុស កើតឆ្នាំ១៩៤៥ បាត់ខ្លួន។ ជួបជា មួយឈ្មោះ ខៀវ អ៊ុំ អាយុ៧៦ឆ្នាំ ត្រូវជាម្ដាយ។ អ៊ីម មានឪពុក ឈ្មោះ នុត ឌុច មានបងប្អូន៦នាក់ មានស្រុកកំណើតនៅភូមិខេ្ចៅ ឃុំខេ្ចៅ ស្រុកកងមាស ខេត្ដកំពង់ចាម។ អ៊ីម កាលពីតូចរៀននៅ សាលាបឋមសិក្សាវត្ដខេ្ចៅត្រឹមថ្នាក់ទី ៩ឪចាស់ឱ។ ពេលឈប់រៀន បួសជាព្រះសង្ឃនៅវត្ដខេ្ចៅបាន៣វស្សា ពេលសឹកមកវិញជួយ ធ្វើស្រែ ចម្ការឪពុកម្ដាយ។ នៅឆ្នាំ១៩៧៤ អ៊ីម ត្រូវប្រធាន ភូមិឈ្មោះ មឿន ជាអ្នកនាំឱ្យចូលទៅធ្វើជាយោ ធាខែ្មរក្រហម តាមពិត អ៊ីម យំ មិនចង់ទៅទេ ឪពុកម្ដាយក៏មិនឱ្យកូនទៅដែរ តែធ្វើម៉េចបើប្រទេស ជាតិត្រូវការហើយ។ តាំងពីចេញទៅពីរ នាក់បងប្អូន មិនដែលឃើញត្រឡប់មកលេងផ្ទះបានម្ដងណាទេ ទោះបីខែ្មរក្រហមទទួលជ័យជម្នះនៅឆ្នាំ១៩៧៥ រហូតដល់ឆ្លង កាត់របបខែ្មរក្រហមជាងបីឆ្នាំទៀត ចូល ដល់របបថ្មីកើតឡើង នៅឆ្នាំ១៩៧៩ក៏មិនឃើញកូនទាំងពីរត្រឡប់មកស្រុកកំណើតវិញ រាល់ថៃ្ងនឹកកូន សេ្ទីរស្លាប់ទៅហើយ គ្មានសង្ឃឹមថា កូនមានជីវិត រស់ទេ ពេលធ្វើបុណ្យទាន ចេះតែរំលឹកដល់កូនជានិច្ច មិនដែល ខានទេ។ រីឯឈ្មោះ អ៊ុំ ត្រូវជាម្ដាយ ជំនាន់ខែ្មរក្រហមពីឆ្នាំ១៩ ៧៥ដល់៧៩ អង្គការចាត់ តាំងឱ្យធ្វើស្រែចម្ការរស់នៅបែក ប្ដីបែកកូន ហើយហូបចុកមិនបានគ្រប់គ្រាន់ទេ ភាគច្រើនហូបតែ បបរ លាយគ្រាប់ពោត។ នៅក្នុងសម័យខែ្មរក្រហម វត្ដអារាម អង្គការយកទុកដាក់ស្រូវ កនែ្លងខ្លះក្លាយជា កនែ្លងចឹញ្ចឹមជ្រូក មាន់ ទា មិនទុកវត្ដអារាមឱ្យប្រជាជនធ្វើបុណ្យទេ។
