Summary / Abstract :
|
The chairman of the joint chiefs of staff (General wheeler) assured me that no action had taken place or would be contemplated without the Australian Government being July consulted. He said that he frequently discussed the problem of enemy force in Cambodia with Mr. Mcnamara and that whilst they had their shades of differences they were basically in accord that there should be no invasion of Cambodian territory by free would forces.
