Summary / Abstract :

Aim: To examine the present political and military situation in South Vietnam likely trends for the next few months and their implications. The problem hitherto has been one of ensuring the survival of non-communists, and preferably anti- communist, government of South Vietnam (GVN). More recently the immediately problem has been concerned with internal division, lack of leadership and general deterioration of the GVN effort. Western more especially United States, support for the GVN has been able to do very little about this internal problem. Subject to this limitation the west must continue to try to find a basis for its support of the non-communist cause in Vietnam.
