Summary / Abstract :

The dominating event of the second half of January was the communist attack on the night of 21-22 January, against Phnom Penh airport (some five kilometres from the capital) And rocket and motor attacks that followed in and round the city. Although the attacks in and in the immediate vicinity of the city were never heavy, they and the attack on the airport shook popular morale, buy by the end of the month. when there had been no attacks in Phnom Penh for the some days and a radically reduction in military action immediately around the capital, It seemed that confidence in the future had returned ant that the government would not radically affected by the communist attacks.
