Military activity fell of slightly during the second of December, but there were reports in Phnom Penh of a further decline of confidence in the government. A number of minor political storms blew up the course of which the government seemed to lose, at least for the moment, the sympathy of some of its major supporter. The decisions to impose press censorship threatened to damage seriously the government reputation communist military pressure eased in the vital area of western Kampong Cham, but Phnom Penh continued to be cut off from the short port of Kampong Som
