At a french embassy lunch for Asean and south Pacific delegation leaders on 05 October, olivier stim (franch secretary of state for foreign affairs) appeared for close consultation in future between france and Asean/ south Pacific countries on Indochinese question. He argued that while there had been differences a approach france shared the opposition of the Asean/ south Pacific countries to the Vietnamese occupation of Kampuchea and their desire for a peaceful settlement in which Kampuchea would enjoy an independence existence.
