The Pol Pot-Ieng Sary regime in Cambodia obviously include a popular base. The speed of the drive by the Kampuchean United National Front for National Salvation into Phnom Penh and half a dozen provincial capitals proved that these who ran the world's most ruthlessly radical regime for nearly four years in Cambodia lacked the strength to with stand insurgency.
