The fall of Phnom Penh to the forces of Hanoi-backed Kampuchea National United Front for National Salvation (KNUFNS) is no surprise. Though it has come rather sooner than was generally expected. By its extreme brutality, if for no other reason, the KR regime headed by Mr. Pol Pot had almost completely isolated itself both internally and externally.
