Vietnam and Thailand are the traditional Cambodian enemies, having almost succeeded in the past in annexing Cambodia, and they are regraded as the main threats in the future. Cambodia maintains a rigid restricted immigration policy towards both countries and few of the Vietnamese resident in Cambodia have been granted Cambodian citizenship.
