On March 09, 1963, Lt. General Lon Nol, C-In-C Royal Khmer Armed Forces said during an interview with General Collins, C-In-C US land forces, Pacific, that Cambodia was to receive six Russian MIG fighter aircrat which were to be delivered within a month.
