Summary / Abstract :

Kampuchea, from all accounts, is expected to loom large at the forthcoming non-aligned summit. Perhaps larger than some countries would like. The impetus for this comes from the ASEAN countries consistent with their refusal to recognise the validity of the status quo in Kampuchea which has evolved due to Vietnamese intervention. By mobilising support for Prince Sihanouk's presence at the summit they aim at creating a balance of power in the region that would be favourable to them.
