Summary / Abstract :

The Political scene was calmer, although rumours of an impending cabinet reshuffle continued. There were some encouraging developments by dint of the effort of the second deputy Prime minister, the 1971 budget was voted by the national assembly.
Confidential approaches were made to potential donor countries for contributions to an exchange support fund, in accordance a stabilization programme prepared by the international monetary fund, which the government has adopted. |
