Sihanouk's travels, Sihanouk left Pyongyang on 14 August for Tientsin where he arrived on the following day. After arriving back in Peking on the evening of 16 August he met the North Vietnamese Premier Phan Van Dong, Penn Nouth, who had returned to Peking from Tsingtao on 12 August, had seen Pham Van Dong earlier on 16 August at a meeting at which Ieng Sary and Sarin Chhak were present on the FUNK/GRUNK side and Nguyen Co Thach (Vice Foreign Minister) and Ngo Thyen (Ambassador to China) were present on the DRV side.
