On 6 October, Cambodia referred its dispute with Thailand over the Preah Vihear temple dispute to the international court of justice. When the Cambodian minister called on you on 23rd October, he left a letter giving the text of Cambodian government's communique on this matter and seeking the support of the Australian government in this dispute. In answer to your enguiry, the minister said he had no specific request to make at that stage but that when the matter went to the international court, his government would like Australian support '' at'' with the court.
