Washington, April 18, the Vice-President, Mr. Richard Nixon, has announced that if France pulls out of Indochina the US may have to throw American troops into the Asiatic fighting. This statement, first issued anonymously and attributed to "A source very close to the President", immediately raised a furor in congress.
