Thai newspapers have adopted pote Sarasin's remarks in the United States as a basis for speculation on SEATO's role in the event of a communist attack on formosa or Laos. The general impression seems to be that where the United States becomes involved, Thailand as a SEATO ) Partner would find it difficult to remain outside the scope of any conflict. At the same time, in the case of Laos , the limatatians of the Manila treaty seem, better understood by Thia newspaper than were during last ears crisis.
