The political situation has been unusally quiet since the national congress ended and Sihanouk retired again to Siem Reap.
The French Embassy endorse the view expressed in my savingram 2/57 that a compromise understanding must have been worked out between Sihanouk and the rebel deputies in advance of the congress. |
