On the communist side: The Khmer Communist leadership is opposed to Sihanouk, and only "Support" him for its own tactical reasons. There appears to be some pro-Sihanouk sentiment among the rank-and-file in the insurgency, but the Khmer Communists probably can keep it within bounds.
