Yesterday afternoon, I went to the perfumed mountains, alias the fragrant Hills Park, one called the ''Hunting Park''. It was a favorite retreat for the emperors, and bounded in game as early as the 12th century. It reached its apogee in the 18th century, during the sixty year reign of Ch'ien Lung.
