Forced labor: My mother told me that during the Pol Pot regime, people were forced to overwork. From 1975 to 1979, my mother and her family members were evacuated to Tbeng Pra-Kiep Village, Ta-Nha Commune, Kandieng District, Pursat Province. My mother was assigned to work in a mobile unit doing farming. She worked every day without adequate rest or food. I do not know the name of her mobile unit chief. Because of overwork during the KR regime, my mother now suffers bad health. Physically, she is very weak. I was born in the year that the KR took over the country and remember very little about the regime, yet those years left me with so much suffering that I was not able to receive the warm support of family or sufficient food to eat. |
