Summary / Abstract :
|
The Kingdom of Cambodia, all that remains of the once magnificent Khmer Empire, is now a weak and underdevelopment state, striding to maintain its independence amidst pressure generated by such giants as the United States, the Soviet Union and communist China of these three, to Cambodia the shadow cast by China is the longest in view of her proximity. However, Cambodia is even more with being locked between American- backed Thailand and Vietnam. Regardless of these disadvantages, Cambodia enjoys great internal stability, due to the affection of her people for Prince Norodom Sihanouk. But to westerners, Sihanouk is controversial figure.
