The Cambodian people established an organized society more than 2000 years ago, and the light of the Angkor civilization shone throughout Southeast Asia for many Centuries, making an appreciable contribution to world civilization. During that period, Cambodian society honored moral and intellectual value, cultivated traditionalist of struggle and the sense of honor and of dignity and looked upon state power as a mission to serve the people and placed the general interest in priority over the interest of the individual.
