An unarmed US merchant ship was fired upon and seized by the crew of a Cambodian gunboat in the gulf of Siam early morning. The capture of the civilian vessel, reportedly some 60 miles off the Cambodian coast , immediately was branded an "act of piracy " by President Ford.
