Summary / Abstract :
|
On 5 July 1997, security forces loyal to Cambodia 's Second Prime Minister, Hun Sen, clashed with those of his rival and coalition partner, First Prime Minister Prince Norodom Ranariddh. In the course of the attack on the Phnom Penh residence of both Ranariddh and his troop general, Nhek Bun Chhay, the head quarters and military base of his Party, FUNCINPEC, were destroyed.
