Summary / Abstract :

Designed to Keep power diffused the separation was useful as a governing systern. However as the nation grew and the pace of life picked up the separation of powers come under attack as inadequate to the administrative role of government. The attack on the separation was led by the progressive beginning as early as the mid- 19th century but it was not consummated until the last half of the 20th century.
