Chea Ol, 31 years old, joined the CIA in 1970 and worked as a news reporter on the Khmer Rouge activities in Svay Rieng province. Chea Ol contacted Tann Chhav Roeun and Lim Chive. After April 17, 1975, Chea Ol conducted CIA activities within the group of Mao Sophany, Um Chamreun and Chang Kem.
ជា អុល អាយុ ៣១ ឆ្នាំ ចូលសេអ៊ីអានៅឆ្នាំ១៩៧០ ជាអ្នកយក ពត៌មានពីសកម្មភាពខ្មែរក្រហមនៅស្វាយរៀង។ ជា អុល បានទាក់ទង ជាមួយតាន់ ធាវរឿន និង លឹម ជីវ។ ក្រោយថ្ងៃ១៧-៤-១៩៧៥ ជា អុល ធ្វើសកម្មភាពសេអ៊ីអាក្នុងក្រុមម៉ៅ សុផានី, អ៊ុម ចំរើន និង ចង កែម។
