Ros Than, Khmer Communist, was a woman medic in battalion 11, region 13, located at Samrong pagoda, Baray sub-district, Traing district, Takeo province. She never took a military strategy course or any theory, but she was trained how to throw grenades only. They set a propaganda that current was people's war and people own the war in order to topple feudalism and free people from American empire who were invading combodia. He defected because upper Angkar communist, especially Ta Saom ordered Voeun, Commissioner to arrest him and his nine friends and kill them.
រស់ ថន ជាខ្មែរកុម្មុយនិស្ដមានមុខងារជានារីពេទ្យកងវរសេនាតូច១១ ក្នុងតំបន់១៣ នៅវត្ដសំរោង ឃុំបារាយ ស្រុកទ្រាំង ខេត្ដតាកែវ។ ពុំដែលបានរៀនយុត្ដិសាស្ដ្រឬទ្រីស្ដីរបស់ពួកវាទេ គឺរៀនតែចោល គ្រាប់បែកប៉ុណ្ណោះ។ ពួកវាឃោសនាថាសង្គ្រាមសព្វថ្ងៃជាសង្គ្រាម ប្រជាជន គឺប្រជាជនម្ចាស់សង្គ្រាមដើម្បីវាយរបបសក្ដិភូមិ និងរំដោះប្រជាជនចេញពីនឹមដែកចក្រពត្ដិអាមេរិកឈ្លានពានទឹកដី កម្ពុជា។ ហេតុដែលបណ្ដាលឱ្យរត់ចូលរួបរួម គឺដោយសារអង្គការ កុម្មុយនិស្ដថ្នាក់លើពិសេស គិត សោម បញ្ជាឱ្យស្នងការឈ្មោះ វឿន តាមចាប់ឈ្មោះ រស់ ថន នេះ ព្រមទាំងមិត្ដរបស់គេ៩នាក់យកទៅ សម្លាប់។
