Chhem So Khan was a commander in platoon 1, company 39, battalion 302, regiment 16, in region 31, South west zone. This battalion made up of 3450 soldiers, and its duty was to attack along the national road 5. After this attack they were sent to attack national military location, situated in the west of Phnom Penh, because national road were the last chance for the government. And they killed a great deal of national army. Military equippment, food stuff and many trucks were kept at office of region 31, located in village Chheu Tiel Chreng. Local Khmer communist and khmer communist from Hanoi broke up because local khmer communist accused khmer communist from Hanoi that they inspired people to go astray from the politics line of Angkar Kampuchea communist party. The army's spirit was getting worse and worse because they lost hope in the war. If they were not forced, no one went to the battle. They always complained about the hardship of fighting because of the shortage in all fields; such as weapons and food as well, about their commander's supressing towards them like animal, about breaking up with the family, especially they were afraid of death.
ឈឹម សុខន ជាមេបញ្ជាការកងអនុសេនាតូចលេខ១ កងអនុសេនាធំ ៣៩ វរសេនាតូច៣០២ វរសេនាធំ១៦ ក្នុងតំបន់៣១ ភូមិភាគ និរតី។ កងទ័ពក្នុងកងនេះមានកម្លាំង៣៥០នាក់ មានតួនាទីវាយតាម ផ្លូវជាតិលេខ៥។ ក្រៅពីវាយប្រហានៅកន្លែងរួច ក៍ត្រូវបានបញ្ជូនឱ្យទៅវាយកន្លែងកងទ័ពជាតិ ដែលតាំងនៅខាងលិចភ្នំពេញ ព្រោះ ផ្លូវនេះជាដង្ហើមចុងក្រោយរបស់រដ្ឋាភិបាលសាធារណរដ្ឋ។ ម្យ៉ាង ទៀតវាបានសម្លាប់កងទ័ពជាតិជាច្រើន។ ខ្មាំងបានស្ដុកទុកសម្ភារ សឹកស្បៀង និងរថយន្ដសម្រាប់ដឹកជញ្ជូនជាច្រើនគ្រឿងនៅក្នុងមន្ទីរ តំបន់៣១ ដែលតាំងនៅភូមិឈើកាលជ្រែង។ ពួកខ្មែរកុម្មុយនិស្ដក្នុង ស្រុក និងខ្មែរកុម្មុយនិស្ដហាណូយ មានការបែកបាក់គ្នាដោយសារខ្មែរ កុម្មុយនិស្ដក្នុងស្រុកបានចោទប្រកាន់ពួកហាណូយថាៈ ជាអ្នកបំបះ បំបោររាស្ដ្រខ្មែរឱ្យឃ្លាតឆ្ងាយពីមាគ៌ានយោបាយរបស់អង្គការបក្ស កុម្មុយនិស្ដកម្ពុជា។ ចំពោះទឹកចិត្ដយុទ្ធជនបានចុះអន់ខ្សោយ ព្រោះពួក គេអស់ទឹកចិត្ដក្នុងការច្បាំង ប្រសិនមេពួកគេមិនបង្ខំទេនោះ គឺពិតជា គ្មាននណាម្នាក់ទៅច្បាំងឡើយ។ ពួកគេតែងតែត្អូញត្អែរអំពីការលំបាក វេទនាក្នុងការធ្វើសង្គ្រាម ព្រោះខ្វះខាតគ្រប់វិស័យ ដូចជាគ្រាប់រំសេវ និងស្បៀងអាហារជាដើម។ ជាពិសេសមានការជិះជាន់ពីសំណាក់មេ បញ្ជាការមកលើយុទ្ធជនដូចសត្វធាតុ បែកបាក់ពីគ្រួសារ និងខ្លាចស្លាប់ តែម្ដងនៅពេលមានប្រយុទ្ធម្ដងៗ។
