Seun An, male, aged 47, lives in Krauch village, Krauch sub-district, Prey Chhor district, Kampong Cham province. An៌s wife is Tin Mach, who is 42 years old, and they have 5 children; in addition, his father was Sar Sin and mother was Las Chin. An studied until grade 10 [in the old system] at Krauch primary school. He then left school because of a civil war, and he came to help his parents in rice field. It was in 1971 that the village chief, Ta Nge, selected An along with Ol living in the same village to serve as soldiers in Battalion 314, and the chief of this battalion was Chhin. It was until 1974 that it៌s changed to Division of which Oeun was the chief. An injured in his back and hand at Number 5 School, and he was then sent to a hospital in Prek Ta Ten. It was until the Khmer Rouge got the victory that the Khmer Rouge marched into Phnom Penh and evacuated people out of the city with a reason that they៌re afraid there were enemies in the city; thus, it៌s difficult to sweep enemies up. When marching into the city, the fighting between Khmer Rouge soldiers and Lon Nol soldiers was over. In late afternoon, all Lon Nol soldiers were taken to this place and that place, but, in fact, they were shot to death. After people left Phnom Penh, An៌s unit was assigned to be stationed in Kmuonh for one month. His unit was than sent to farm in rice field in Phaav until Sontuk Mountain, but An was assigned to farm in Chheung Prey; in addition, his gun was confiscated and Angkar told that they៌re afraid there were rebellious soldiers. It was told by Thach who was the chief of the division. After transplanting seedlings for two years, it was not a time to harvest that An was assigned to farm in Prasit Mountain. In Prasit Mountain, there were no cattle, using only hoes to dig earth up. It was in 1976 that An was assigned to Kmuonh. At that time, there wasn៌t enough food, and there was only one can of rice from morning to evening. After farming in Kmuonh for one year, An was sent to work in Kampong Chhnang Airport and to Vietnam border because Vietnamese soldiers fought in the border. That៌s why Khmer Rouge withdrew some element forces like 16th Unit and 17th Unit to replace; in addition, the chief of the division, Oeun and Yan, were arrested and killed because of being accused of being traitors, and Ta Nhor who was from the south-west zone came to control instead. An worked in Kampong Chhnang Airport until Vietnamese soldiers marched into Cambodia. It was at that time that An returned to his home village and lives there until these days.
