Yi Oun was soldier of battalion 742 of communist. The battalion consisted of 500 forces, leaded by comrade Chhoeun, chief of battalion, and it was based in Svay Tearp pagoda of Kampong Cham province. Their fighting strategy was dividing troop into two groups. The second group at the back would fired to disturb their enemy while the front headed to their enemey base. Whenever, they really reached the base, they would launched grenade attack and entered the based. They indoctrinated soldier to be strong, tolerate and patient. They put up the death in the fighting was the honorable death, for the party. Food supplie, munitions and medicines were not sufficient. Therefore, the combatant lost their fighting spirit and wanted to join society. There were little Vietnamese in the line. The Vietnamese in liberated region had gone to their homeland. " The reasons of defection was dictatorship of communism in the troop.
អ៊ី អូន ជាពលទាហានក្នុងកងវរៈ៧៤២របស់ពួកកុម្មុយនិស្ដ មានកម្លាំងទាំងអស់៥០០នាក់ មានឈ្មោះ មិត្ដ ឈឿន ជាប្រធាន កងវរៈប្រចាំការនៅវត្ដស្វាយទៀប ខេត្ដកំពង់ចាម។ ក្នុងការវាយ ប្រហារពួកវា ច្រើនចាត់អោយមួយក្រុមលូនចូលទៅមុខ ហើយមួយ ក្រុមទៀតនៅពីក្រោយបាញ់រំខាន លុះក្រុមខាងមុខចូលដល់បន្ទាយ ហើយ គប់គ្រាប់បែកដៃ ហើយក៏សម្រុកចូលតែម្ដង។ ចំពោះមនោគមន៍វិជ្ជា ពួកវានិយាយពន្យល់យុវជន បំពាក់ស្មារតីអោយនឹងនរ អត់ធន់ អោយមានសង្ឃឹមទៅលើជ័យជំនះ ហើយត្រូវគិតថាៈ ការស្លាប់បាត់ បង់ជីវិតគឺជាការតស៊ូថ្លៃថ្នូរសម្រាប់បក្ស។ ចំពោះស្ឃៀងអាហារ, គ្រាប់រំសេវ, ថ្នាំពេទ្យ ពុំសូវសំបូរទេ ដូចនេះយុទ្ធជនទាំងអស់បាក់ ស្មារតី ប្រយុទ្ធរកតែមធ្យោបាយចូលមករួបរួមជាមួយសង្គមជាតិវិញ។ នៅក្នុងជួរកងទ័ពខ្មែរកុម្មុយនិស្ដមិនសូវមានយួនទេ ហើយជនជាតិ យួនដែលនៅក្នុងតំបន់រំដោះក៏បានទៅស្រុកវាអស់ហើយ។ មូលហេតុ ចូលរួបរួមដោយសារមិនពេញចិត្ដនឹងរបបកុម្មុយនិស្ដ ពោល និយាយ កុហក ប្រើអំណាចផ្ដាច់ការ បំបិទសិទិ្ធគ្រប់បែបយ៉ាង។
