Keo sokthon was a private in platoon 1, company 20, battalion 113, regement 173, positioned in zone 203. In regiment 173, there were 700 combatants, equipped with various weapon. There was a shortage of food and weapons. Most of weapons were made in red China and USSA. People, especially between the age of 15 to 35, were mobilized to join Khmer Communist soldier. 85% of the people in this region were very fed up with the communist leadership.
កែវ សុខថុន ជាយុទ្ធជនសាមញ្ញនៃកងអនុសេនាតូច១ អនុសេនាធំ២០ វរសេនាតូច១១៣ វរសេនាធំ១៧៣ ប្រចាំភូមិភាគ២០៣។ ក្នុងកងវរសេនាធំ១៧៣ មានទ័ពចំនួន៧០០នាក់ ប្រដាប់ដោយ អាវុធគ្រប់ធុន។ ចំពោះស្បៀងអាហារ និងគ្រឿងសញ្វវុធក្នុងតំបន់ នេះមានការខ្វះខាតជាច្រើន។ គ្រឿងសញ្វវុធភាគច្រើនធ្វើនៅប្រទេស ចិនក្រហម និងនៅសហភាពសូវៀត។ ប្រជាជនត្រូវកេណ្ឌឱ្យចូលធ្វើ ជាទ័ពខ្មែរកុម្មុយនិស្ដ ជាពិសេសយុវជនពីអាយុ១៥ឆ្នាំដល់៣៥ឆ្នាំ។ ប្រជាជននៅក្នុងតំបន់នេះចំនួន៨៥ភាគរយ មានការធុញទ្រាន់ជាខ្លាំង ចំពោះរបបគ្រប់គ្រងតាមរបបកុម្មុយនិស្ដ។
