Chan Yaun who was arrested at Thum village on January 06, 1975, was a chief of squad 3, in platoon 3, company 3, battalion 808, brigade 1, positioned in zone 304. This unit never fought in battle before they attacked Phnom Penh. Battalion 808 was responsible for ambushing national army, which lied along Au Khsach bank, in the south of Thum village. The people in this area were not content with enemies because enemies forced them to collaborate with each other on farm. These were great difficulties, such as , food shortage, especially the people were fear of death.
ចាន់ យ៉ូន ត្រូវបានចាប់ខ្លួននៅថ្ងៃទី៦ មករា ១៩៧៥ នៅភូមិធំ ហើយដែលមានឋានៈជាប្រធានក្រុមទី៣នៃកងអនុសេនាតូច៣, អនុសេនាធំ៣, វរសេនាតូច ៨០៨, កងពលតូច ១ ប្រចាំភូមិភាគ ៣០៤។ កងឯកភាពនេះពុំដែលបានវាយកន្លែងណាម្ដងទេ មុនពេលចូល វាយប្រហារតំបន់ភ្នំពេញនេះ។ កងវរសេនាតូច ៨០៨ នេះមានតួនាទី ត្រៀមចាំវាយប្រហារកងទ័ពជាតិនៅខាងត្បូងភូមិធំ ដែលស្ថិតនៅតាម មាត់ព្រែកអូខ្សាច់។ ប្រជាជននិងយុទ្ធជននៅក្នុងតំបន់នេះពុំសប្បាយចិត្ដ និងពួកវា តែព្រោះពួកវាបានបង្ខំឱ្យធ្វើស្រែរួមនិងមានការលំបាកយ៉ាងខ្លាំង ដោយគ្មានស្បៀងអាហារគ្រប់គ្រាន់ហើយពិសេសទៅទៀតនោះ គឺខ្លាចស្លាប់ តែម្ដង។
