Saom Phea is PTSD victim. Her husband called Saom Dan. Her husband is 49 years old. She has 5 children, but one of them died. She has 5 children, but one of them died. Her father called Sam Suos. Sam Suos died in 1979.In the Khmer Rouge regime, she was lacking of food,medical care,and shelter. She was in combat situation. She used to be brainwashed. She was close to death. She was separated from her family members. She used to drown when she was 10 years old. She has suffocated. Recently, she has recurrent nightmares. She is unable to feel emotions. She feels jumpy. She finds it is difficult in concentrating. She has trouble sleeping. She feels on guard.She is avoiding activities that remind her of the traumatic events. She has less interest in the daily activities. She feels as if she does not have a future. She is avoiding thoughts associated with the traumatic experience. She feels that people do not understand clearly what happened to her. She finds it is difficult in performing her daily tasks. She blames herself for things that have happened.She feels guilty for having survived. She feels hopelessness. She feels ashamed of the hurtful events. She spends time thinking about why these events happened to her. She feels as if she is going crazy. She find out by other people that she has done something that she cannot remember. She feels someone she trusted betrayed her.
