Chab Beun served Khmer communist movement as a militiaman in Cheungros Krom, Kampong Speu province. On December 9, 1974, he defected to the national military authority of sub-military in Kampong Speu at VT: 570-700, and brought along one AK-47. He confessed that the unit consisted of 30 men, equipped with :
- Six B-41 guns - One M-79 guns - One M-16 guns - One AK-47 guns - Two Karabine guns ចាប ប៊ឺន បានចូលបម្រើចលនាខ្មែរកុម្មុយនីស្ដ,មានឋានៈជាកងឈ្លបឃុំជើងរាស់ ក្រោមក្នុងខេត្ដកំពង់សឺ្ព។ ជននេះបានចូលរួបរួមក្នុងសង្គម ជាតិវិញនៅថ្ងៃទី១២ ខែកញ្ញា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៤ នៅចំការចិនត្រង់វ៉េតេៈ៥៧០-៧០០ ជាមួយនិងកងទ័ពជាតិផ្នែកសឹករងកំពង់សឺ្ព ដោយនាំជាប់ជាមួយនូវអាវុធអាកា-៤៧មួយដើមផង។ ក្នុងអង្គភាពឈ្លបនេះមានកម្លាំងទាំងអស់៣០នាក់ ប្រដាប់ដោយអាវុធៈ - បេ-៤១ៈ៦ដើម - អ៊ឹម-៧៩ៈ ១ដើម - អ៊ឹម-១៦ៈ ១ដើម - អាកា-៤៧ៈ ១ដើម - ការ៉ាប៉ីនៈ ២ដើម - មុខកាត់ៈ ៥ដើម និងត្រង់ស៊ីន ៣ដើម។
