On July 8, 1973, about 300 North Viet Cong soldiers moved from Chhouk and Tany to deploy in tnot village in Kampong Trach sub-district. About 500 North Viet Cong soldiers and Khmer rebels deploy around Tmarkeo mountain at VS:430-680, 430-690, 440-680 and 440-690 in Kampong Trach sub-district. 300 of them were sent to deploy near Ang Rakal mountain in Leav sub-district in an attempt to raid south Vietnamese troops, who were operating in Khmer territory.
កាលពីថ្ងៃទី៨ ខែកក្កដា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៣ យៀកកុងខាងជើងប្រមាណ ៣០០នាក់ បានធើ្វចលនាចេញពីឈូក និងតានី រួចមករាយគ្នាក្នុងភូមិ ត្នោត ក្នុងសង្កាត់កំពង់ត្រាច។ ខ្មែរឧទ្ទាមនឹងយៀកកុងខាងជើងចម្រុះគ្នាប្រមាណ៥០០នាក់ទៀតបានមករាយគ្នានៅជុំវិញភ្នំថ្នកែវ ក្នុងរង្វង់ចំនុចវ៉េអេស ៤៣០-៦៨០, ៤៣០-៦៩០, ៤៤០-៦៨០ និង ៤៤០-៦៩០ក្នុងសង្កាត់កំពង់ត្រាច។ ពួកវាបានបញ្ចូនគ្នា ៣០០នាក់ ទៅរាយគ្នានៅជាយភ្នំអង្គរកាលក្នុងសង្កាត់ភ្នំលាវ ក្នុងបំណងចាំស្ទាក់វាយកងទ័ពរដ្ឋការយួនខាងត្បូងដែលធើ្វប្រតិបតិ្ដការក្នុងដែនដីខ្មែរ។
