On July 18, 1973 at 16h30, about 1000 Viet Cong soldiers and Khmer rebels, equipped with guns, moved from Krang Yauv Koh Khel and Sre Ambel sub-district to gather at Thunmon mountain foot at VT:995-516 and VT:983-515 in Sa-ang district. On the same day at 19h:00, the enemies moved from the above points to Tuol Krasang, Kampong Pring and Rongdamrei villages in Svay Rorlum sub-district, Sa-ang district in an attempt to smash our national military positions along national road 21.
កាលពីថ្ងៃទី១៨ ខែកក្កដា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៣ ម៉ោង១៦,៣០នាទី យួនយៀកកុង និងខ្មែរឧទ្ទាមចំនួនប្រហែល១០០០នាក់ ប្រដាប់ដោយអាវុធបាន ចេញពីសង្កាត់ក្រាំងយ៉ូវ, កោះខែល និងស្រែអំបិល ហើយមកផ្ដុំគ្នា នៅជើងភ្នំធន់មន្ដ ត្រង់វ៉េតេៈ៩៩៥-៥១៦ និងវ៉េតេៈ ៩៨៣-៥១៥ស្រុកស្អាង។ នៅថ្ងៃដដែលវេលាម៉ោង១៩យប់ ខ្មាំងបានចេញពីចំនុច ខាងលើដោយបំបែកគ្នាជាក្រុមធើ្វដំណើរទៅភូមិទួលក្រសាំង, ភូមិកំពង់ព្រីង និងភូមិរោងដំរី ក្នុងសង្កាត់ស្វាយរលំ ស្រុកស្អាង ក្នុងបំណងវាយ ទីតាំងទ័ពជាតិយើងនៅតាមផ្លូវជាតិលេខ២១។
