On July 17, 1973 at 6h30, a battalion of armed Khmer rebels hid themselves at VT:771-882 and VT:775-881 and shelled our military positions by using 82mm mortar gun which was located at Trapeang Preay village at VT:767-887 in Ponhea Ponh sub-district, Phnom Baset district. Villagers in Thom village at VT: 786-885 and Trapeang Preay at VT: 772-888 and other villages fled to Prek Phneou. The above mentioned Khmer rebels attempted to attack Prek Phneou market soon.
កាលពីៃៃថ្ងទី១៧ ខែកក្កដា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៣ ម៉ោង៦ៈ៣០នាទីព្រឹក ខ្មែរ ឧទ្ទាមមួយកងវរសេនាតូច ប្រដាប់ដោយអាវុធគ្រប់ធុនបានត្រៀមលាក់ខ្លួននៅត្រង់វ៉េតេៈ៧៧១-៨៨២ និងត្រង់វ៉េតេៈ៧៧៥-៨៨១ព្រមទាំងផ្លោងកាំភើ្លងត្បាល់៨២មម, ជាច្រើនគ្រាប់មកលើទីតាំងទ័ព ជាតិយើង នៅខាងលិចភូមិត្រពាំងព្រាយត្រង់ចំនុចវ៉េតេៈ៧៦៧-៨៨៧ក្នុងសង្កាត់ពញ្ញាពន្ធ ស្រុកភ្នំបាសិត។ ប្រជាជននៅភូមិធំ ត្រង់ចំនុច វ៉េតេៈ៧៨៦-៨៨៥ និងភូមិត្រពាំងព្រាយវ៉េតេៈ៧៧២-៨៨៨ និងប្រជាជននៅភូមិដទៃទៀតបានភៀសខ្លួនទៅកាន់ព្រែកព្នៅ។ ខ្មាំងខាងលើនេះមានបំណងវាយទីតាំងការពារយើងនៅផ្សារព្រែកពៅ្ន កុ្នងពេលឆាប់ៗ។
