On March 18, 1970, Uy Son served Khmer communist movement as a Khmer Viet Kong combatant in the units Kh-7 and K-30, which was located in Cheang Dek village, Kampong Trabek district, Prey Veng province. In 1971, he was a soldier in Svay Rieng district military unit, and in 1972, he was the chief of the section Kh-2 in the spy unit K-9 in region 23. The located was in Kok Sramar village, Svay Rieng province.
អ៊ុយ សុន បានចូលបម្រើចលនាខ្មែរកុម្មុយនីស្ដនៅថ្ងៃទី១៨ ខែមីនា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧០។ ក្នុងឆ្នាំ១៩៧០ ជាយុទ្ធជនខ្មែរយៀកកុងក្នុងអង្គការខ-៧,គ-៣០ដែលមានទីតាំងនៅក្នុងភូមិជាងដែក ស្រុកកំពង់ត្របែក ខេត្ដ ព្រៃវែង។ ឆ្នាំ១៩៧១ ជាយុទ្ធជនក្នុងអង្គភាពទ័ពស្រុកស្វាយរៀង។ ឆ្នាំ១៩៧២ ជាប្រធានខ-២ក្នុងអង្គភាពស៊ើបការគ-៩ ប្រចាំតំបន់២៣,ហើយមានទីតាំងនៅក្នុងភូមិភាគគោកស្រមរ ខេត្ដស្វាយរៀង។
