Chea Tamhoeung served Cambodian United Front as a cultural member and on April 29, 1974, he defected to national military in battalion 10 at WT:385-635 in Prek Kandieng village.
ជា តាំហឿង បានបម្រើអោយនយោបាយរណសិរ្សរួបរួមជាតិកម្ពុជា ក្នុងឋានៈជាសមាជិកវប្បធម៌។ ជននេះបានចូលរួបរួមនៅថ្ងៃទី២៩ ខែមេសា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧០ ជាមួយកងទ័ពជាតិក្នុងកងវរសេនាតូច១០ត្រង់ ដុបឡាវ៉េតេៈ៣៨៥-៦៣៥ ក្នុងភូមិព្រែកកណ្ដៀង។
