Thaong Sophoeun, a former soldier in Battalion 116, defected on August 01, 1973, to the second Bureau in Division 3. The source reported that in his Unit, there were 800 soldiers and equipped with 80 mm mortar, 60 mm mortar, two B-40, AK-47, CKC, M-16 and M-79 guns.
