Ou Sam, described that he had served on July 31, 1970, in Battalion 71 as a combatant unit on August 04, 1970, Viet Cong attacked and captured our military base. He was arrested and detained in Trapeang Cho for 14 days, in Ormleang forest for 4 days, in Khna Chma in Kampong Chnang province for 10 days and finally was forced to transport people by boat for one month. On October 12, 1970, at 10:00 pm , he swam across 200 m-long water and walked towards Pha-Av to meet his family. Then, he went back to Phnom Penh city to serve in the national army [again].
អ៊ូ សំ បានរៀបរាប់ថា ខ្លួនជាទាហានក្នុងកងវរសេនាតូចលេខ៧១ កាលពីថ្ងៃទី៣១ ខែកក្កដា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧០ រហូតដល់ថ្ងៃទី៤ ខែសីហា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧០ ពួកយៀកកុងបានវាយប្រហារ និងដណ្ដើមបានបន្ទាយ យើង។ រូបខ្ញុំ ត្រូវពួកវាចាប់ខ្លួននៅត្រពាំងជោ១៤ថ្ងៃ នៅព្រៃអមលាំង៤ថ្ងៃ នៅ ខ្នាឆ្មា ខេត្ដកំពង់ឆ្នាំង១០ថ្ងៃ រួចទៅចម្លងទូកជាមួយពួកវា១ខែគត់នៅ សង្កាត់ព្រៃគ្រី ស្រុកកំពង់ត្រឡាច ខេត្ដកំពង់ឆ្នាំង។ ខ្ញុំបានរត់ផុតពី កណ្ដាប់ដៃពួកវានៅថ្ងៃទី១២ ខែតុលា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧០ វេលាម៉ោង ១០ៈ០០យប់ ដោយហែលឆ្លងទឹកប្រហែល២០០ម៉ែត្រ ដោយខ្ញុំបាទ ដើរកាត់សំដៅមកតំបន់ផ្អាវ ដើម្បីមករកក្រុមគ្រួសាររបស់ខ្ញុំ បន្ទាប់មកខ្ញុំក៏មកកាន់ភ្នំពេញចូលមកបម្រើក្នុងកងទ័ពជាតិវិញ។
